Return to Rest
Scripture:
“Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.”- Psalms 116:7
Encouragement:
So many times, we have to speak to ourselves. We must tell ourselves to keep going and to trust God. Usually, when we are tired, we do little speaking. We usually want to sit down and not talk.
The strength of Psalms 116:7 is in the fact we are to tell ourself to return to rest. Wow! This means we leave resting. Why would we do that? For a lot of reasons, but one is we take situations on ourselves and try to fix them, forgetting we serve a God who is good to us. He takes care of us. We don’t need to worry or leave a place of rest.
So today, if you forgot He is good, go back and remember. Tell yourself “return to rest soul, for God is good to me.” Praise God.
Prayer for Today:
Lord, thank you so much for sending me the reminder that you are good and that you have every situation or problem of mine and that I can rest in you today and every day. Thank you for the soul rest. In Jesus' name. Amen.
